Cork feels soft and comfortable to walk on and yet it’s durable enough to withstand even the heaviest weight and traffic. Cork acts as a natural insulator making it warm in winter and cooler underfoot in summer. It is also sound absorbing – quiet to walk on and it reduces impact noise, such as something dropping on the floor or the sound of running children or pets.
Cork is ideally suited to the Australian climate, it has natural properties that are anti-allergenic and it’s resistant to insects.
In an environmentally conscious world, cork offers a truly sustainable resource. Cork is an all natural product taken from the bark of the Cork Oak Tree and harvested using a traditional stripping method, so that not one tree is destroyed during the process. The bark re-grows completely within around nine years when the cork is harvested again.
Cleaning and maintaining your cork floor is easy, just a regular sweep with an electrostatic mop, soft broom or vacuum is all that is required. Then when necessary just mop over your floor using QPCF Floor Cleaner with clean warm water and a well-wrung cotton mop.

Installation is easy. On average a cork floor can take several days to complete. Floor preparation is the key to ensure a quality finish. Cork can be installed on any clean, level sub floor, however a hardboard underlay is recommended if cork tiles are being laid on a strip timber sub floor.
